Deloittes aims to flush out fast-moving biotechs
Wednesday, 06 March, 2002
National accounting firm Deloittes has launched its Technology Fast 50 program for 2002.
The program, now in its second year, aims to recognise and profile the 50 fastest-growing companies in Australia, based on percentage revenue growth over three years.
It covers all technology sectors, including biotech and IT.
Last year's Fast 50 featured imaging company Optiscan and medical instrument developer Polartechnics.
Deloittes client director David Black said that while some biotechnology companies would qualify for the Fast 50, most would be a better fit in the program's Rising Star category, "even the biotechs who feel they're not big company's because they don't have the revenue growth."
"It's designed to recognise and reward the companies that might not be big enough to hit the analysts' radars."
Winners of the Rising Star awards receive up to $5000 of support from Deloittes.
Nominations for the Fast 50 close on March 21. For more information, contact project manager Francois Van Der Merwe on (02) 9322 5828, or e-mail to fvandermerwe@deloitte.com.au
