Extreme imaging competition
The Extreme Imaging Competition for 2014 has been launched by Canon Information Systems Research Australia (CiSRA) in collaboration with the Powerhouse Museum.
The competition is open to all Australian university students - undergraduate or postgraduate - who are working on a research project in the imaging sciences.
A focus for the competition will be on science projects where imaging innovation plays a central role in the research and students undertake original research to develop imaging systems and algorithms that advance imaging beyond the boundaries of creative photography and video.
Students may be from any discipline, including engineering, computer science, the physical sciences, medicine, astronomy and archaeology.
Prizes for winners ($2000-$5000 Canon product vouchers and cash) and runners-up ($1000-$3000 Canon product vouchers) will be awarded in two categories: postgraduate and undergraduate.
Entries will be judged by a panel of researchers from CiSRA and Australian universities.
