Monday, 16 June, 2003
Texan company Inguran has paid $US150,000 to Melbourne-based Genetic Technologies to use the company's non-coding patents for genetic testing of livestock in the USA, Colombia and Brazil.
Inguran will also pay royalties to GTG in the deal, which allows the company to offer tests for genetic markers of interest, paternity testing and disease susceptibility testing for cattle, horses and other livestock.
Previously, GTG has licensed its technology to Australian livestock and aquaculture genetic testing service Genetic Solutions, and to US company Associated and Regional Pathologists (ARUP), which offers testing services for human genes and human parasites, in addition to a number of biotechnology companies.
