IT awards seeking bio-IT involvement

Bio-IT innovators are being encouraged to enter this year's Asia-Pacific Australian Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Awards.

The awards aim to seek out innovative Australian companies and individuals (including students) who have developed or implemented leading-edge technologies that have the potential to improve the international competitiveness of their industry sectors.

There are 20 categories contested: communication applications, skills and training, regional community skills, education, natural resource management, E-commerce, smart communities, start-ups, creative digital industries, building and construction, E-learning, student (primary, secondary and tertiary), smart ICT, health/telemedicine, government, business improvement, E-tools and security, business, R&D and tourism.

Winners receive free flights, accommodation and a booth at which they will represent Australia's ICT industry sector against other 11 regional countries at the International Awards in 2003.
