Last call for nominations to the board of AusBiotech and 2013 Industry Excellence Awards
Nominations will close shortly for candidates to nominate for the AusBiotech board of directors and for the Janssen 2013 Industry Excellence Awards, which recognise those who have made a significant contribution to the biotechnology industry.
In preparation for the forthcoming election for the board of directors of AusBiotech, nominations for the board election will close for eligible AusBiotech members at 5 pm on 20 September 2013.
The Janssen 2013 Industry Excellence Awards will be awarded to individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to the biotechnology industry and, through their leadership, continue to make a difference to the growth of the bioeconomy. Nominations close at 5 pm on 27 September 2013.
Nominations are invited for 2013 Industry Excellence Awards in the three categories:
- Industry Leadership Award: this award seeks candidates who have already made a significant difference to the industry and have an outstanding commitment to life sciences/biotechnology that often goes beyond the ‘job description’. Candidates will be known for their passion, enthusiasm and commitment to the industry in Australia.
- Australian Company of the Year Award: this award will be presented to a company that has demonstrated significant achievement/s and may include any company working in biotechnology or life sciences, including but not limited to the medical diagnostics or devices, pharmaceutical and agricultural biotechnology sectors. Criteria for companies may include deals done, product pipeline, IP, company strategy and/or revenue.
- Australian Emerging Company of the Year Award: this award will be based on the same criteria as above, but be specific to companies under five years of age.
Both the new board and the awards will be announced at AusBiotech 2013 in Brisbane which runs from 30 October to 1 November.
The election outcome will be announced at the AusBiotech Annual General Meeting on 1 November 2013. For more information or to nominate, please click here. Nominations are to be returned to AusBiotech by the closing date with a 350-word biography and photo in either GIF or JPEG format.
