New CEO for Medical Technology Association of Australia
Susanne Tegen has been appointed as CEO of the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) and will take up the position from 17 October 2013.
Tegen will take the reigns from Anne Trimmer, who left the MTAA in July 2013 for the position of Secretary General of the Australian Medical Association.
Tegen has 20 years’ experience in the medical and health, and the agribusiness sectors. She has a strong track record of skills in advocacy and relationship building across medicine, primary industry/agribusiness, education and training.
Tegen has previously been chief executive at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology (RANZCO) and is on the board at Sight for All, Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and Health First Network.
“I’m looking forward to this new and exciting role where I can combine my leadership and public affairs experiences in a membership-driven health organisation with my knowledge of business management,” said Tegen in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to meeting members in and stakeholders for the medical technology industry.”
Tegen has an MBA (Melbourne), BA (Adelaide), Post Grad Dip Ed (University of New England), GCCM (Australian Graduate School of Management), FARLF and FAICD, and has received numerous awards including a Telstra Nokia Business award and Rural Industry Research Development Corporation SA Business Woman award.
