Brisbane company BioProspect (ASX: BPO) has been granted a patent on its Termilone product for termite control.

Termoline is based on ermophilone oil, extracted from the native Australian tree False Sandalwood.

The oil acts as both a toxic agent on termites and a repellant, but has shown low toxicity in mammalian species.

The company is also developing a range of Bioeffectives for the animal health and nutrition markets.
