Medic Vision, a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier Bionics (ASX:PBI), has received an initial order for its surgical simulation products worth almost $460,000 from a hospital in Hong Kong.
The Prince of Wales Hospital, the main teaching hospital for the Chinese University of Hong Kong, has ordered HK$2.6 million (AUD$460,000) worth of virtual reality simulators used for medical and surgical skills training. The products will be delivered to the hospital within the next two weeks.
In October Kiang Wu Hospital in Macau, signed an intial contract worth AUD$380,000 for the same product. While in April Medic Vision signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a South West Hospital in Chongqing, China to provide skill centre consulting services and simulators. The MOU specifies a two year timeframe and a total estimated budget for the project of approximately AUD$2.3m.
"We are active in selling and developing our simulators in Asia/Pacific. We are to open an office in London on 21 November which will be used as a base to market in the UK and Ireland and that will be a springboard to Europe," said Medic Vision CEO Ross Horley.
As part of its focus on expansion and sales, Premier Bionics successfully listed on London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) earlier this week.
