ResMed launches improved nasal pillow
Sleep-disordered breathing company ResMed (ASX:RMD) has launched the latest in its AirFit line of nasal pillows.
The company said it has optimised the design of the AirFit P10 so that it weighs just 45 g and, thanks to a new mesh vent, it is 50% quieter than its predecessor.
Jon Yerbury, vice president of ResMed’s Sleep-Disordered Breathing Strategic Business Unit, said these improvements translate to better performance, as well as better compliance among patients.
“Our internal research has shown that the AirFit P10 provides an average of 40 more minutes of sleep per night than ResMed’s current market-leading nasal pillows mask,” he said.
The product comes in small, medium and large sizes for the standard system, and extra-small, small and medium sizes in the AirFit for Her system, which includes headgear customised for women.
In a bid to expand the European distribution reach for its sleep-disordered breathing products, ResMed last month announced the acquisition of Prague-based medical device distributor Unimedis.
ResMed (ASX:RMD) CDIs were trading 2.14% higher at $5.26 as of around 1 pm on Thursday.
