$11.5 million dairy research facility
Thursday, 08 November, 2001
Steve Bracks, Victorian Premier, has just launched Gippsland's Ellinbank Institute, saying it would become Australia's leading dairy research facility following an $11.5 million redevelopment and expansion.
The improvements are part of a $50 million government project that will see the development of four science, innovation and education precincts in Horsham, Ellinbank, Tatura and Mildura. Bracks said there would also be modernised regional institutes at Hamilton, Bendigo, Kyabram and Rutherglen.
Dr Chris Grainger, Ellinbank Director, said the improvements would allow Ellinbank to run a wider scope of research programs and accelerate the delivery of dairy and environmental research and development.
