The Monash Institutes of Health will hold a series of forums for selected Australian and international venture capital groups later this year to attract investors for its biomedical research.
The move follows discussions at Bio2001 in San Diego, California. Other developments at Bio2001 included:
- the announcement that a national synchrotron facility would be built at Monash;
- Opportunities for two Monash start-up businesses, CopyRat and IngenKo, to provide gene technology related to rats and mice to international companies;
- ES Cells International announced it was ready to provide stem cells for the international market.
