CSIRO containment facility commended by GRDC
Tuesday, 10 July, 2001
Hyden farmer and Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Western Regional Panel Chairman, Dale Baker, has praised the CSIRO for the commitment it has shown WA agriculture by building a world class containment facility in Perth.
The laboratory will test potential biological control agents, imported from overseas, for curbing the adverse affects of pests and weeds on crop production.
Speaking at CSIRO after a Panel meeting, Mr Baker said the $5 million investment by one of the GRDC's research partners was a welcome boost to the WA grains industry's research and development (R&D) resources and infrastructure.
