EU/Australia research collaboration

The National Health and Medical Research Council has a limited fund to assist Australian participation in research projects selected for funding under the European Commission's Fifth Framework program.
The research areas are: control of infectious diseases; development of cell diagnostics, therapeutic strategies; chronic, degenerative and rare diseases; genomes and diseases of genetic origin; neurosciences; public health and health services research; research relating to persons with disabilities, and; bioethics.
The closing date with the EU for the next call for applications is 18 October 2001. Australian researchers who are members of EU projects being submitted in the October 2001 round should consult the NHMRC website here for more information.
