LABbuild 2004
Organisers of LABbuild 2004, a specialist conference for the design, management and maintenance of science and research facilities, have confirmed that several top industry experts will be presenting at the three-day conference.
To be held on 9, 10 and 11 November in Brisbane, LABbuild has attracted a number of US and European industry identities including:
- Dr Richard Reitz - noted specialist in managing renovations and upgrading American research facilities;
- Mark Kelly - expatriate Australian architect now working in London for Woods Bagot International; and
- Nancy Carlisle - senior Program Leader at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Colarado.
Nancy Carlisle will also present a Labs 21 full-day workshop on 9 November that introduces strategies for designing and constructing sustainable laboratories in new and existing facilities.
Other international representatives at LABbuild will include Dale Sartor from Lawrence Berkley Laboratory in Berkely and Harry Fischer from Waldner Europe.
LABbuild's international speakers will be joined by many Australian laboratory specialists including Daryl Jackson, Principal Jackson Architect; Dr Bruce Hobbs, Chief Scientist with Western Australian Government; Professor Paul Greenfield, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at University of Queensland; and Pru Sanderson, CEO, Monash Property Management Pty Ltd.
In all, there will be some 40 speakers, moderators and industry specialists presenting at the three-day conference, which is being supported by Australia's CSIRO.
To be staged at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane, LABbuild 2004 will also include a specialist trade exhibition to be staged over the Wednesday and Thursday of the event.
