National Science Briefings

National Science Briefings were established by CSIRO National Awareness (CNA). The Briefings are hosted by the Minister for Science and are presented during Parliamentary Sittings.
The next National Science Briefings will be held on Thursday 7 December 2000 from 12.30 to 1.30pm in the Senate Committee Room 2S3, Parliament House, Canberra.
The Briefing, titled "˜Gene Technology: What About The Environment?', will be given by Dr Joanne Daly and Dr Oliver Mayo from the CSIRO. Also contributing will be Professor Colin Thompson from University of Melbourne.
The Briefings receive backing from some of the most prestigious science bodies including the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Australian Research Council, the CRC Association, the National Health and Medical Research Council, the Federation of Australian Scientific and Technological Societies, the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Rural R&D Corporations.
Those wishing to attend will need a pass to enter the Committee Room area. To be put on the pass list, call Trish Blakey on 02 6276 6451 by 12 noon on Tuesday 5 December.
