Monday, 03 September, 2001
A US biotechnology company wants to establish a close working relationship with Queensland biotechnology companies and academic institutions, Premier Peter Beattie has just announced.
"I have welcomed United States biotechnology entrepreneur Dr John Holaday to Queensland where the Department of State Development will work with him to investigate partnerships and investment opportunities with Queensland organisations," said Mr Beattie. Dr Holaday said his company was investigating: short-term clinical trial opportunities; opportunities for university, institutional and commercial collaboration; contract manufacturing possibilities; and longer-term opportunities to establish drug development and manufacturing operations.
