A NIST traceable exposure monitor that is dedicated to measuring the lamp output in neo-natal hyperbiliru-binemia exposure chambers is being introduced by International Light.
The IL Hyperbilirubinemia exposure monitor features a detector probe with a 1.8 m long cord that can be placed exactly where the infant will receive output from the lamps to verify their proper output levels. This process helps personnel determine when to replace hyperbilirubinemia phototherapy lamps which can degrade over time without being visible to the naked eye.
Featuring simple, push-button operation, the IL Hyperbilirubinemia exposure monitor provides readings in mW/cm2 or mW/cm2/nm on a 4.5 digit display and operates over a 100 nW/cm2 to 500 mW/cm2 dynamic range with a 422 to 488 nm spectral range.
Powered by a 9 V battery that automatically shuts off after two minutes, the rugged exposure monitor has a durable, cushioned rubber base.
