Glassware traceability

Wednesday, 07 November, 2007 | Supplied by: SCHOTT Australia Pty Ltd

Schott Duran has introduced the Retrace Code, an eight-digit batch code shown on Schott Duran laboratory glass bottles, beakers, Erlenmeyer flasks and reagent bottles that allows the bottles to be retraced to the point of production, including the matching batch.

Increasing requirements and standards regarding quality assurance of production and laboratory processes, as well as the retraceability of packaging and auxiliary materials are becoming more and more significant. In order to meet these standards, Duran has developed the Retrace Code. It provides a continuous record within the quality management system and is therefore particularly significant for the areas of medicine, and the pharmaceutical and food industries.

By means of the Retrace Code, the end user can easily, conveniently and at any time retrieve a batch and quality certificate via the internet. Beside the production date, the certificate also provides information on standards and USP/EP conformity.

All Schott Duran laboratory glass bottles, beakers, Erlenmeyer flasks and reagent bottles are marked with the Retrace Code.
