Stress related injuries are becoming of great concern to employees and companies alike. The manner in which a person uses a pipette can overextend muscles through repetitive actions, hence repetitive strain injury (RSI).

According to one study*, technicians pipetting over 300 hours a year were at greater risk. Technicians perform between 6,000 or 12,000 pipetting repetition per day, it is reasonable to expect serious fatigue. Laboratory functions such as tip ejection of pipettes, repetition and sustained static exertion can all lead to RSI.

For over 30 years, ergonomics has always been an integral part of the Finnpipette design. Today Finnpipette product development team is seeking even more ergonomically designed pipettes. The Finnpipette has an advanced soft-touch tip ejection, weighs only 69grams, a grippy finger rest, multifinger operation and the diameter of the handle piece of the 20-200mL single channel is only 2.9cm. To reduce the risk of stress-related injury as much as possible, Thermo Labsystems has designed the ultimate ergonomic pipette and has patented its' innovations from the start.

The entire Finnpipette range is designed specifically for the end-user and is ultimately the world's most ergonomic pipette to date, and will continue to lead the field in liquid handling.

Pathtech, along with Thermo Labsystems are committed to addressing the issue of RSI & will continue to support products that may assist preventing such injuries to Australian Scientists.
