The Nalgene mouse metabolic cage is claimed to be the first metabolic cage specifically designed to collect urine and faeces from a single mouse.

The cage collects 75% more urine than cages currently available on the market, providing usable sample volume from each animal. It is similar in design to the rat metabolic cage, but is sized specifically for mice.

Features of the cage include a smaller chamber volume and collection tube design to minimise evaporation.

The funnel and cone design with steeper angles separates the urine and faeces into separate collection tubes, while the non-wetting funnel and cone material ensure immediate, complete separation of the two samples.

The cage is self-standing and does not require a stand.
