E.coli Genome Microarray

22 October, 2001 | Millennium Science Pty Ltd

MWG-Biotech has launched the Pan E.coli Array. All 4.289 genes of the bacterium are represented on the array using MWG-Biotech's 1 gene/1 oligo method, where each bioinformatically designed HPSF oligonucleotide is 100% gene specific and thus guaranteed to identify the gene it was produced for. The organism used for MWG-Biotech's Pan E.coli Array is the strain K12, a non-pathogenic standard research organism. MWG-Biotech will soon introduce a modified version of the Pan E.coli Array to study pathogenic (disease-causing) effects of micro-organisms in detail. For this a combination of genes of E.coli K12 with about 1.200 additional genes of the pathogenic haemorrhagic (causing intestinal bleeding) E.coli strain 0157:H7 will be used. E.coli 0157:H7 has recently received public attention in food poisoning cases involving raw meat and apple juice.

Visualising Rheometry

22 October, 2001 | Rheology Solutions Pty Ltd

The Thermo Haake RheoScope 1 is a combination of an optical microscope with attached digital camera and a universal rheometer. The RheoScope 1 allows the synchronous recording of both the rheological properties and the changes in the microscopic structure of the sample.

PCR Tubes

16 September, 2001 | Eppendorf South Pacific Pty Ltd

Eppendorf 0.2 mL PCR tubes have a contamination shield on the lid which prevents the user from accidentally coming into contact with the inside of the lid when opening and closing the tube. It provides a safeguard against contamination during handling.

Electrolytic Suppressor

16 September, 2001 | Ai Scientific Pty Ltd

The Dionex Atlas Electrolytic Suppressor for ion chromatography is a fifth-generation advancement in eluent suppression technology providing lower baseline noise, faster start-up, and better ease of use, ruggedness, and reliability.

Type 1 Water

16 September, 2001 | Merck Pty Limited

For the scientist who requires 5 to 40 L of ultra-pure water per day from a convenient source, the Synergy provides an easy supply of high quality water at a low capital cost, with minimum maintenance. The Synergy water purification system offers the essential features (compact, automatic delivery of predetermined water volumes, high accuracy resistivity monitoring) of a Type 1 water system at low capital cost.

Liquid Nitrogen Plant

16 September, 2001 | On Site Generating Solutions

The LNS-40 Liquid Nitrogen Plant produces 40 L per day, and the LNS-12 produces 12 L per day of liquid nitrogen.

X-ray Detector for Powder Diffractometry

16 September, 2001

The X'Celerator X-ray Detector is designed for the X'Pert PRO diffractometer series and is based on the RTMS (Real Time Multiple Strip) detection technology. This, in effect, replaces a single detector by an integrated array of parallel detectors to provide up to 100-fold increase in efficiency compared with traditional detectors. This means a scan formerly requiring three hours of data collection time can now be recorded in less than two minutes without compromising resolution.

BioTOF-Q mass spectrometer

21 August, 2001 | Bruker Pty Ltd

BioTOF-Q is an ultra-high performance electrospray ionisation (ESI) mass-selective quadrupole/collision quadrupole/time-of-flight analyser (Q-q-TOF) mass spectrometer. It adds tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) capabilities to the Bruker BioTOF II high-resolution LC-ESI-TOF system.

Thermoreactor Range

20 August, 2001 | Merck Pty Ltd

Merck has a range of sample preparation instruments for the digestion of water and wastewater samples prior to photometric analysis. It is often necessary to digest a sample to determine the concentration of a specific analyte that is in a complex, bound or colloidal form. This can be done with the addition of a digestion reagent and heating in a block heater (thermoreactor).

Dry Block Heater

20 August, 2001 | Lomb Scientific (Aust) Pty Ltd

The BH-1/DIG Clifton Dry Block Heater has a user adjustable independent time and temperature controller and set values are retained even after power off. The unit features digital temperature display in 1°C resolution and a variable timer from 0 to 9999 minutes which activates automatically once setpoint temperature is reached. An audible buzzer indicates when the timed run has elapsed. The heater incorporates an over temperature safety device.

Ambient Temperature Monitoring

20 August, 2001 | Hanna Instruments Pty Ltd

The HI 148-00 and HI 150-00 ambient temperature monitors cover a temperature range of -20.0 to 60.0°C and have a ±0.5°C accuracy. This meets the requirements for the ANZFA proposed standard 3.2.2.

CGA351 oxygen analyser

20 August, 2001 | GE Panametrics Pty Ltd

Panametrics' CGA351 zirconium-oxide based oxygen analyser uses an advanced zirconium oxide sensor in combination with a new manifold assembly to ensure leak-free integrity and accurate measurement of oxygen content from percent levels to less than 0.1 ppm.

Analytical Data Management

20 August, 2001 | Thermo Electron Corporation

eRecordManager is a software system for analytical data management, reporting and archival.
