Dialysis for IC
18 August, 2003 | Metrohm Australia & New Zealand
Samples for ion chromatography need to be clear, clinically pure, with no bacteria or particles. Apart from the ions to be determined, however, most samples still contain large amounts of aggressive substances that make an analysis difficult. With 'MISP', the Metrohom inline sample preparation system, Metrohm now provides a range of possibilities and methods that allow users to automate sample preparation and make it considerably more efficient than was previously possible.
Microarray fluorescence reader
18 August, 2003 | Beckman Coulter Australia
Beckman Coulter has introduced a fluorescence-based CCD microplate reader for the automatic quantitation of hundreds of protein analytes on the A2 MicroArray Plate. The A2 MicroArray Reader has been specially designed to work with the A2 MicroArray System to quantitate multiplexed immunoassays. Part of the ProteomeLab family of products, this protein microarray system has the potential to allow users to detect and quantitate protein-protein interactions, protein immunoassays, DNA-protein interactions, enzymatic reactions and other protein assays.
Peptide/protein biomarker tools
18 August, 2003 | Bruker Pty Ltd
Automated sample preparation is a key component of any biomarker discovery system. Bruker Daltonics is introducing a magnetic bead based system for the selective capture and enrichment of certain classes of peptides and proteins directly from serum, or from other biological samples.
Film seal testing
14 July, 2003 | IDM Instruments
The Hot Tack Tester is an advanced system for monitoring the seal performance of flexible and semi-rigid plastic films and laminates.
Ductless fume cabinets
14 July, 2003 | Gallay Medical & Scientific Pty Ltd
The Captair range of ductless recirculating fume cabinets is suitable when the installation of a fully ducted system is difficult or uneconomical within an existing work environment. Duct route, exhaust location or existing walls can make a ducted system too expensive and complicated.
Automated pipette
14 July, 2003 | VWR International Pty Ltd
The 'HandyStep electronic' from Brand is a microprocessor-controlled, battery-operated pipette with automatic tip size recognition for the encoded Plastibrand PD-Tips. It is also compatible with most standard dispenser tips, including Combitips and Combitips Plus, by manually entering the tip size.
Flash point tester
14 July, 2003 | John Morris Scientific Pty Ltd
The Setaflash Series 3 flash point tester has been designed for rapid testing and spot checks for most user applications. Checking flash point is important during inspection and analysis of many products. For example, in the classification of potentially hazardous substances where storage, transport and disposal charges are based on flammability and where incorrect classification can lead to significant added costs.
Portable digital vibrometer
14 July, 2003 | Warsash Scientific Pty Ltd
Polytec's portable multi-purpose non-contact vibration system, the PDV-100 combines optics and digital signal processing to measure surface vibration velocity without contact, utilising Laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDV) technology. The system yields good measurement performance, ease of use and long-term calibration stability in a portable and robust package.
IR thermometer/camera
14 July, 2003 | ECEFast
The Raytek MX6 is a handheld infrared thermometer with integral digital camera. Temperature measurements are made instantly and easily with the full function thermometer in the range of -30 to 900°C or with SZ option from -50 to 500°C. The target is accurately indicated with a bright coaxial circular laser which is accurate at any distance. Standard optics provide 60:1 distance to target ratio, while the CF option allows targets as small as 6 mm at 300 mm. The MX6 can be programmed with up to 100 customised locations by name and with alarms.
Tubing assembly
14 July, 2003 | Omnifit Ltd
Omnifit has developed a tubing assembly with leak-tight gripper fittings for fluid transfer in spectrophotometers. Each flow cell consists of a glass tube held in an aluminium housing. The requirement was for a PTFE tubing assembly with fittings that would seal to the glass surface of the flow cell while accommodating variations in the alignment between the cell and its housing. The dimensions of the flow cell tubing were 1.6 mm OD and 1.0 mm ID.
