10x Genomics Chromium Xo instrument for high-performance single-cell research
Designed to meet the needs of researchers who desire high-quality data with limited funding, Chromium Xo offers an entry point into routine, high-performance single-cell analysis. 10x Genomics’ launch of the Chromium Xo brings the advantage of high reproducibility and time savings from automated, instrument-supported single-cell partitioning right to the lab bench. Paired with GEM-X technology for 3′ whole transcriptome profiling, Chromium Xo is designed to let users conduct single-cell research with confidence.
The product automates the most critical steps, which should result in more reproducible results and a lower risk of manual error than with instrument-less methods. It offers high success rates and consistent performance, with a demonstrated R2 value of 0.97 across runs, users and time points. It can partition tens of thousands of cells in mere minutes, saving on time and labour costs with one-day workflows and just 3–4 h of hands-on time.
According to the company, users can make the most of every sample with GEM-X 3′ assays that provide up to 80% cell capture and >40% higher gene sensitivity than alternative methods; capture more accurate biology from a wide range of species with high-quality results for low-expressed transcripts and fragile cells; generate more usable reads and detect more genes at lower read depths, saving up to 50% on sequencing costs; and gain comprehensive views of complex biology with simultaneous capture of protein and gene expression.
