Sophion Bioscience Qube 384 automated patch clamp system for drug discovery
The Qube 384 automated patch clamp system by Sophion Bioscience allows users to make gigaseal ion channel recordings in 384 cells simultaneously, enabling high throughput for screening, characterisation or research in drug discovery and ion channel research.
With its 384 format and full automation, it is possible to screen large compound libraries without sacrificing the in-depth information content that is so important when selecting the best ion channel modulators. Cell handling has been designed for >8 h of unattended operation, making for efficient automated data analysis and reporting. Additionally, autofill reservoir enables long-term screening. The integrated liquid handler with its 1536 precision, linear motors and gripper is designed to enable accuracy and speed.
The product contains powerful internal PCs with 24 TB of storage, making it suitable for data-heavy ion channel recordings. Automatic backup and data reduction capability adds to intelligent use of storage capacity. The system has a stable cell temperature independent of ambient temperature; the user can cool or heat the cells to investigate temperature-dependent effects on pharmacology and biophysics.
The system is fully integrated with one access point, intuitive software and a barcode reader for minimal risk of human error. The liquid management system is in 5 L units, with intelligent control that allows filling and emptying of liquid containers during operation. Even the opening height of the door can be adjusted individually, making for an ergonomic work environment.
