SMS 100 mercury analyser
09 June, 2009The SMS 100 mercury analyser has been designed to improve the detection and measurement of mercury in solids and liquids and help minimise the need for complex sample preparation. The SMS 100 helps accurately measure mercury at low levels in a variety of sample types, enabling environmental laboratories, municipalities, power utilities, waste producers and food companies to comply with regulations and protect consumers.
Measuring sulfur-containing compounds
06 April, 2009 byESA Biosciences has developed a first stable, sensitive and robust analytical system that enables routine measurement of thiols, thioethers, disulfides and other sulfur-containing compounds.
Self-regenerating suppressor
06 April, 2009 byThe SC-CSRS 300 Salt Converter Cation Self-Regenerating Suppressor is an eluent suppressor that can be used in place of a CSRS 300 or CAES cation suppressor in cases where increased sensitivity is required for the determination of ammonium and amines using conductivity detection. The design of the SC-CSRS 300 provides increased backpressure tolerance and maximum leak tolerance. The regenerant sweep-out design provides low noise and fast start-up.
Chemisorption analyser
06 April, 2009 byThe Micromeritics AutoChem 2920 automated catalyst characterisation system is a fully automated chemisorption analyser that enables a wide array of studies of chemical adsorption and temperature-programmed reactions. It can acquire information about the physical properties of the catalyst, catalyst support or other materials, and can determine catalytic properties such as percentage of metal dispersion, active metal surface area, acid strength, surface acidity, distribution of strength of active sites, BET surface area and more.
Range of COD analysers
03 December, 2008Aqua Diagnostic’s PeCOD COD analysers are a new technology for measuring COD and provide users with the benefits of real-time process control and environmental monitoring in industries involved in wastewater treatment, using coolant water or water feedstock or seawater in their manufacturing processes.
Microwave reaction system
01 August, 2008Up to 40 high-pressure vessels per run can be processed with the MarsXpress High-Throughput Microwave Reaction System from CEM. MarsXpress offers intelligent and adaptive continuous temperature and pressure feedback control for all vessels all the time without the need for temperature and pressure connections.
Open air mass analysis
01 July, 2008The AutoDart provides fast and complete analysis of large numbers of samples for the AccuTOF-Dart, from sources ranging in scale from LC fraction collection tubes, to solids, to aerosol sprayed on sampling tips.
Dietary fibre extractors
07 February, 2008Dietary fibre including cellulose, hemicelluloses, lignin, pectin, rubbers and waxes can be determined by digestion with thermostable enzymes in foods and animal feeds. AOAC International (Official Methods of Analysis) has proposed enzymatic method 985.29.
A new spin on old CDs
01 November, 2007Scientists in Spain have found a way to recycle CDs, DVDs and disc players as portable substance analysers.

05 October, 2007Scil Diagnostics has released the Enzytec range of rapid test kits.
Wine analysers
07 April, 2006Foss has released a new generation of analysers for routine analysis of wine and grape-must. The analysers are: WineScan Grape for dedicated analysis of grape-must, WineScan Flex for analysis of both grape-must and wine and WineScan Auto for efficient, unattended analysis of wine.
Surface hygiene test
08 March, 2006Pro-tect is a rapid surface hygiene test, providing a rapid method to monitor whether food contact surfaces have been effectively cleaned.
NMR magnets
16 January, 2006Varian has debuted its first shielded vertical high-resolution superconducting magnets designed to reduce stray magnetic fields by up to fivefold (in volume), allowing researchers to save space in pharmaceutical and academic laboratories and making nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) more accessible for routine applications. The 500 and 600 MHz premium shielded magnets are integrated with the company's Varian NMR System and are compatible with its suite of cold and room temperature NMR probes.
